• titled: USS K-1 at New London, Conn., is the first of a new species of Hunter killer class submarine, design to track down and destroy enemy submersibles. The strange looking knows of the K-1 is equipped with special sonar search gear which can detect hostile craft float or underseas (official U.S. Navy photograph)
