PA, WASHINGTON CROSSING or TAYLORSVILLE? Monument closeup - B17062

$12.00

Pennsylvania postcard - Washington Crossing, PA

Titled:  Monument at Washingtons Crossing, Delaware River, Penna Side showing a close up of the memorial.  It reads:  NEAR THIS SPOT WASHINGTON CROSSED THE DELAWARE ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT 1776 THE EVE OF THE BATTLE OF TRENTON - Erected 1895 - Bucks Co Hist Soc (Historical Society)

I found out that:  In 1917 Washington Crossing Park was established + in 1918 the Taylorsville PO was changed to Washington Crossing.  Now a 500 acre park.

While researching, I have to say that I did not find any other view of the monument that included the wooden building to the left.  Not saying that there aren't any others, just that I didn't find any others at that time, so it MAY BE unique in and of itself for that reason.

Mailed from Trenton, NJ in 1916 to Mr F H Miller

  • Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card.  If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.

  • Again, because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
