Oregon postcard - Real Photo Postcard

This is a fantastic postcard showing agricultural or farm workers sitting on the ground on either side of an aisle as if taking a break - with the BOSS MAN? standing with his arms crossed.  There are wooden boxes and buckets that have fruit in them.  What was extra cute to me - is the fact that the lady on the right has button up shoes/boots WITH HEELS!!  A couple of the wooden crates have what appears to be the letter C in a diamond shape.  Each of the workers have some semblance of hats on.

Card titled:  D-7 Prune Orchard near Dallas, Oregon - Published by Patton Post Card Co of Salem, Ore

mailed from Dallas - but year not printed so that you can see the year but it is hand dated 1914.  Note is to Mr and Mrs L TorF Smalley of Butte City, Montana (#1600 East Second St) and in the note sender Aunt Jennie Smalley & says:  I must congratulate you on the advent of your little daughter.  May she be ever a blessing to you both and always a sunbeam in your home.

  • Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card.  If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.
  • Again, because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
