  • back:  Geronimo and Nachez Chiracahua Appache Chiefs (1829-1909 & 1869?-1921)  The appache wars lasted from 1872 to 1886 with General Crook in costant pursuit of Geronimo and his warriors.  This important photograph was made during a temporary truce just before a peace conference with Crok.  (Left to right Son of Geronimo, White Horse, holding Nahi's baby girl; Geronimo mounted, Natches (Naiche) son of Cochise and hereditary chief, mounted and wearing hat; Fun, considered the bravest fighter in Geronimo's band)
