Back:  Book numbered J398-Mag taken on your card, is out over time.  Fine of 3 cents a day, including Sundays, is charged for each day of retention until the book is returned.  Will you please give the matter your attention and greatly oblige.  Alice G Evans, Librarian

Side note - when I checked the value of 3 cents in today's money - it was about $1.05 a day!!  Seems like they meant business with items that were over due.
