• back states:  Target Practice with 12 inch gun at Fortress Monroe, VA (even though the title states 13 inch gun) / Target practice with these mammouth defense guns, conducted at various times during the year, is one of the most interesting spectacles at Fortress Monroe.  The targets are towed to sea at a distance varying from 2 to 5 miles.
